About Us

Established in 2017, Oregon Mountain Rifle Co. began in Corbett, Oregon, hence its name.  We were built on a strong background in the fishing rod and hunting industries.  OMR moved the shop to Billings, Montana in the fall of 2021.
Our barrels are manufactured in-house.  We start with a match grade blank, and chamber it to SAAMI specs for each customer’s desired caliber. Once chambered, OMR will continue our meticulous inspection process. The custom barrel is then carbon fiber wrapped and inspected one more time before we allow your barrel to leave our facility.
We take extreme pride in the craftsmanship and quality that goes into every precision barrel we produce 100% in the U.S.A.

Barrel Procedures

BARREL & RIFLE BREAK-IN PROCEDURE:

  • Shoot 1 round and clean. Do this for the first 5 rounds.

  • Shoot 3 rounds and clean. Do this for the next 15 rounds.

  • Shoot 5 rounds and clean.

  • Shoot a fouler round.

  • Shoot 3 rounds for accuracy

NOTE: Allow barrel to cool to ambient temperature before shooting each series of break-in rounds to avoid unnecessary throat erosion. Do not shoot your rifle in succession until the barrel is too hot to touch with a bare hand.

DO NOT USE MOLY COATED BULLETS DURING BREAK-IN.

BARREL MAINTENANCE

Once the barrel is broken in, remember to clean the barrel after approximately every 20 to 40 rounds to keep accuracy optimal. A dirty bore is a primary cause of poor accuracy.

bARREL iNSTALLATION

REMINGTON, SAVAGE, BERGARA USING AN OMR BARREL NUT

For Remington, Savage, Bergara, using a OMR barrel nut, OMR recommends 75-90 ft/lbs of torque to properly install barrels. OMR recommends using a 1 1/4″ crows foot on torque wrench to achieve proper torque specks. OMR recommends using proper caliber specific Go/NoGo gauges before and after tightening barrel nut to check proper head space.  Gauges can be rented from 4drentals.com

Shouldered Prefits

For all “shouldered prefits”OMR recommends 75-90 ft/lbs of torque to properly install barrels. OMR recommends using action specific wrench for your install, along with a quality barrel vise.  OMR recommends using proper caliber specific Go/NoGo gauges after tightening barrel to check proper head space.  Gauges can be rented from 4drentals.com

Once you have installed your new OMR barrel, it is recommended that you have the caliber engraved or stamped before use.  OMR does not do this prior to shipping, because OMR has no idea where your new barrel will time out and properly head space.

MOA Guarantee

The customer is responsible for following our barrel break-in process and using high quality, match-grade premium ammunition.

Custom ammunition, such as Unknown Munitions or Alpha Munitions, will give you the best opportunity to achieve the best accuracy possible.  As with any rifle, load development may be required to achieve MOA Guarantee.

Any firearm that falls under our 1 MOA Guarantee (.30 caliber and larger) is guaranteed to be capable of shooting 3 shots within 1 MOA ( 1 inch at 100 yards) with high quality, match-grade premium ammunition.

Any firearm that falls under our 1/2 MOA Guarantee (.30 caliber and smaller) is guaranteed to be capable of shooting 3 shots within ½  MOA ( ½” inch at 100 yards) with high quality, match-grade premium ammunition.

If you feel that your barrel is not living up to the accuracy that you expected, we encourage you to call us immediately to discuss your options. In no event shall Oregon Mountain rifle Co.be liable for any incidental or consequential damages arising from or in connection with this limited warranty.

Return Policy

Oregon Mountain Rifle Co fully stands behind the quality of our custom made barrels. We strive to create a beautiful, highly accurate & precision machined barrel every time.  We manufacture custom barrels with tight specifications. Our rifle barrels are designed to fit and work with a wide array of receivers. Because of the variations of receivers, and some manufacturers’ loose tolerances, we cannot guarantee a fit. We highly recommend purchasing a matching barrel nut with every barrel order to ensure proper installation. We also encourage our customers to take advantage of our installation services. This is the best way to ensure a proper fit and installation.

Our barrels are non-returnable. That does not mean we do not stand behind each and every barrel we produce. If you run into any problems with performance or installation, please contact us immediately. We will work with you to remedy any problems that may arise. We will do an inspection of the barrel and we will encourage you to return the barrel with your action for professional installation. We ask that you ship the barreled action with bottom metal intact or still installed with the stock.  We cannot be responsible for the internal receiver threading nor can we be responsible for work done to our barrels & blanks by independent gunsmiths.  If upon inspection, we find manufacturing defects, we will repair or replace your barrel.

  • All rifle sales are final, once the rifle has been shipped.   Any rifle build canceled during the build process will be subject to a 30% restocking fee.  If for any reason there is a problem with performance we will work with you to remedy any problems that may arise.
  • All AG Composites Tikka stock sales are final.
  • All rifle upgrade packages are final and cannot be canceled during the build.
