Customize Your Rifle with Options
OMR Prefit Barrels are 100% guaranteed to properly head space with factory configured actions and bolts for all listed actions. Our Carbon Fiber Prefit Barrels are custom built to your specifications. All of OMR’s barrels have a magnum taper, which is 1” at the muzzle (Fits Sendero Contour stocks). OMR Tikka Prefits are a true shouldered prefit, guaranteed to properly head space with factory spec Tikka rifles. Our barrels come threaded for brake, cap or suppressor. If you are running yours suppressed, most likely your suppressor uses 5/8″-24 muzzle threads, so be sure to choose that option.
The 3A thread fit (highest classification) has no allowance and smaller tolerances than the class 2A thread fit, resulting in a tighter fit ensuring proper muzzle device alignment.
IMPORTANT: OMR Tikka Carbon Fiber Prefit Barrels are compatible for all Tikka T3/T3X makes & models.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT TRUED ACTIONS:
OMR Tikka Prefits WILL NOT work. Specifically, if you have had any of the following work performed to your action: the bolt face trued, action body trued or lug work, we cannot guarantee that your barrel will head space correctly. OMR Tikka Prefits will not work without needing a Gunsmith to check assembly and proper head space and additional chambering and or throat work may be required at owners expense. Your best option is to start with one of our Carbon Fiber Blanks, and have your local Gunsmith chamber it to your action.
All OMR carbon fiber barrels start with 416R stainless, match grade, button rifled, hand lapped, and stress relieved blanks. Every blank goes through our rigorous inspection process for tolerances, craftsmanship and material imperfections. Match Grade bore must measure within .0005″ of our standard diameter and groove cannot vary in diameter more than .0003″ for the length of the barrel. Once a blank passes this inspection, only then will it get carbon wrapped using the same state of the art materials and techniques that are employed in the Aerospace industry. We do all this to ensure that our customers receive the stiffest, most accurate, carbon fiber barrel available on the market today.
BARREL INSTALLATION:
OMR recommends 90-125 ft/lbs of torque to properly install barrels. OMR recommends using an action specific wrench for your install, along with a quality barrel vise. OMR recommends using proper caliber specific Go/NoGo gauges after tightening the barrel to check proper head space. Gauges can be rented from 4drentals.com **ONLY CLAMP ON STEEL SHANK, NEVER ON THE CARBON.
BARREL BREAK-IN PROCEDURE:
The following procedure is recommended when breaking-in an Oregon Mountain Rifle Co barrel.
NOTE: Allow the barrel to cool to ambient temperature before shooting each series of break-in rounds to avoid unnecessary throat erosion. Do not shoot your rifle in succession until the barrel is too hot to touch with a bare hand. DO NOT USE MOLY COATED BULLETS DURING BREAK-IN.
BARREL MAINTENANCE:
Once the barrel is broken in, remember to clean your barrel after approximately every 75 to 150 rounds; depending on caliber & bullet load to keep accuracy optimal. A dirty bore is a primary cause of poor accuracy. You know your rifle best, so use your best judgment.

EXAMPLE WEIGHT OF TIKKA PREFIT BARRELS:
Oregon Mountain Rifle Co fully stands behind the quality of our custom made barrels. We strive to create a beautiful, highly accurate & precision machined barrel every time. We manufacture custom barrels with tight specifications. Our rifle barrels are designed to fit and work with a wide array of receivers. Because of the variations of receivers, and some manufacturers’ loose tolerances, we cannot guarantee a fit. We highly recommend purchasing a matching barrel nut with every barrel order to ensure proper installation. We also encourage our customers to take advantage of our installation services. This is the best way to ensure a proper fit and installation.
Our barrels are non-returnable. Any barrel order canceled at any time after your order is placed will be subject to a 30% restocking fee. All our barrels are custom made to a customer’s specifications.
OMR SELF-TIMING MUZZLE BRAKE:
You have the choice of Titanium (Weighs 1.8 oz) or Stainless Steel (Weighs 3.5 oz). These have been engineered to provide the greatest recoil reduction of any brake on the market. OMR Self Timing Brakes are a great addition to your setup when wanting to remove your brake for use at the range, hunting or suppressor use. OMR Self Timing Brakes can be easily removed & installed at home. Made of Grade 5 Titanium or 416 stainless steel. Brakes are caliber specific and ready for install. Add an OMR Muzzle Brake wrench for easy installation and take-off.
OMR ACTION WRENCH:
OMR starts with 416 stainless bar stock which is then inserted into our state of the art 4th axis mill to be precisely machined to .002” of an inch. The OMR action wrench is like no other wrench on the market. OMR uses duel lug design which provides 2X the surface area support in the raceway which eliminates any chance of side torque while maximizing contact in the raceways & keeping the action wrench straight in the action at all times even under high torque, high stress situations.
